Project Description

From the historic Sunny Acres Orphanage built in 1931, The Lumber Baron was able to reclaim approximately 5,000 board feet of full 2″ 2×6 and 2×12 joist boards. With few to no knots, dense edge grain, and lots of figure on the faces, the material would make excellent table tops, shelving, and/or wall paneling.

The building’s Ancient Roman architectural style and brick make up, landed it of the San Luis Obispo Historical Resources list. Currently being restored, retrofitted, and expanded the new building will have 13 studio apartments designated by the county to provide living and wellness support for people with mental illness.
