Man made in 1936 for The World’s Fair, Treasure Island, located in the San Francisco Bay, is a California Historical Landmark. It operated as a Naval Station from 1942 until 1997 and has a strong cinematography history as well. Parts of the Matrix, The Pursuit of Happyness, Bicentennial Man, Patch Adams, Rent, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade were all shot there. The tv shows Myth Busters and Battle Bots were also filmed on the island.
A 5 billion dollar renovation of the Island is well under way, complete with 8,000 homes, 140,000 square feet of retail, 300 acres of park and 500 hotel rooms. The Lumber Baron is proud to offer over 300,000 board feet of reclaimed Yellow Pine, milled from the original wooden pilings used in the construction of the Island.
Commonly known as “Heart Pine” and “Sothern Pine”, Yellow Pine is easy to stain, durable, and naturally beautiful. Milled into various 4x, 3x, and 1x rough material, this lumber would be ideal for exposed beams, furniture, paneling, and more. We have ran a large amount of our reclaimed Yellow Pine into various width tongue and groove (4″-9″ patterns), that would make lovely flooring, siding, or ceiling material. Easy to stain, you create your own custom color pallet. Incorporate a piece of San Francisco, Bay Area history into your next project!
